Client: Swedish-founded tech company Spotify is a digital platform offering music, podcast, and audio-book streaming. With an intention to deliver a personalised user experience, Spotify harnesses the latest technology enhancements to promote curated content which is unique to the consumer.

Brief: Design an office space for 45 employees that encourages creativity, productivity, and collaboration, whilst acknowledging the requirements for both private and shared spaces. Flexibility was a key emphasis to ensure the space could be adapted for a variety of uses, that reflected the companies ethos.

Conceptual Approach: Inspired by how music can be visually represented through a scientific lens, we deconstructed how sound is understood through shapes and pattern, and the way in which this is altered depending on one’s ability. Exploring how music can be appreciated physically through multi-sensory experiences opened a broader dialogue regarding inclusivity and the way in which music brings people together. Our team drove the design through the term ‘wavelength’, for its double meaning; acknowledging Spotify’s technical approach to the concept of listening, as well as being a term that signifies unity.
